Trilantic North America Partner Glenn Jacobson Featured on the North Star Podcast

Trilantic North America Partner Glenn Jacobson recently spoke with Jeff Henningsen from Lockton Companies about the pace and trajectory of the energy transition landscape, as well as the changing maturity and cost profile of companies in the energy space broadly.

He weighed in on what he's seen from the energy transition space throughout his career and how Trilantic has identified in its recent growth investments in the clean energy sector, as well as efforts companies are taking to reduce carbon emissions that go beyond the purchase of carbon offsets. He also touched on the technological developments of new alternative energy investments, as well as the role of ESG and a confluence of forces drawing investors towards cleaner energy assets.

“The energy sector has continued to change. I’ve been looking at solar, wind, ethanol, waste-to-energy and every kind of alternative under the sun for the past 15 plus years, and the cost competitiveness of those technologies and underlying tech use has changed considerably,” said Jacobson. “We’ve seen transition pretty continuously over the years but we’re seeing it from all angles right now, which is on the one hand scary but on the other hand creates tremendous investment opportunity.”

To hear more about his outlook for the industry amid this period of transition, listen to the podcast below.
